Practical information

    About the Larp

    Time and place
Till Death Do Us Part will take place in Ramallah, The West Bank, from August 10th to the 12th 2012. Participants are expected to be in Ramallah between the 8th and 13th of August.

    Participation
The Larp is open for approxemately 15 Nordic players, in addition to 15 Palestinian players.

    Economy
The Larp will cost NOK 1250 (EUR 150) including hotel in Ramallah from August 8th-13th and meals during the larp itself. Travel costs are covered individually by all the players. The deadline for paying the fee is 1st of June.

Travel costs, all meals outside of the larp and participation in week in Jerusalem have to be covered by the participants themselves. See below for estimates for prices.

    How do I sign up?

    Who gets to participate?
Because the larp has a limited amount of space, there will be a selection of participants who will get to join. In the sign-up you will have to write a short motivation (Approximately 150 words) for why you want to join the larp. The participants will be selected by the organizers to create a mixed group of players in gender, age, experience and motivation. In other words, no first come first served.

    Two sign-up deadlines
To secure a mixed group of players there will be two sign-up deadlines, one on March 26th and one on April 19th. You are welcome to apply in either of the groups, but applicants who apply but are not awarded a spot in the first round, will automatically also be considered in the second round.

To sign up for this larp you need to do three things:
    1. Fill in the sign-up form within one of the two deadlines

    2. If you get a place in the larp, show us documentation that you have purchased airplane tickets and fill in participation form within the given deadline.

    3. Pay the larp: NOK 1250/EUR 150 within June 1st.

First sign-up deadline is March 26th
The applicants have to sign up within March 26th. The first group will get feedback on whether they get to join or not by March 29th. The first group will have until April 12th to purchase their travel, or their space will be reannounced in the second round of sign-ups.

Second sign-up deadline is April 19th
The second round of appplications will end on April 19th. The second group will get feedback on whether they get to join by April 22nd. The second group have until April 27th to purchase their travel or pay the participation fee, or their space will be awarded another applicant.

How do I get to Palestine?

    Travel
All players are expected to make travel arrangements for themselves and travel costs are not included in the fee for the Larp. The players have to arrive in Jerusalem (via Ben Gurion international airport, Israel) on the August 8th.

    Transportation from Jerusalem to Ramallah
The organizers will arrange for transportation from Jerusalem to Ramallah in the afternoon on August 8th. More information will be given.

    Flight recommendations
There will be recommendations for flights made from the organizers for both those who are only participating in the Larp itself and those who want to arrive early for a week in Jerusalem.

    What will it cost?
During the week in Jerusalem, you will have to cover your own costs. Like all places, prices vary. The prices given below are meant to give a rough picture of the cost level, but of course it's possible to get by for much less or much more depending on your standards.'

A decent hotel in East Jerusalem will cost you approximately $65 (NOK 350) per person per night in a twin or double room. We will make a suggestion for a hotel and try to negotiate the price with them. People who would like to find a cheaper or more luxurious alternative are of course welcome to do that.

A meal in a decent restaurant will cost you $7-8 (NOK 40) for a pasta dish to $20 (NOK 110) for a more expensive dish like grilled lamp chops. A beer will cost you $3-4 (NOK 20) and for a water pipe you will have to part with $5-8 (NOK 40). A falafel on the street can be $1-2 (NOK 10). Prices are generally somewhat lower on the West Bank.

Transportation is cheap, a Service taxi (minibus) to Ramallah costs $1.5 (NOK 10) and departs from the bus station near Damascus gate every few minutes. When you arrive on Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) it's easiest to go together in a group and take a taxi to the hotel. Make sure to use the taxi adviced by the clerk in the taxi line to avoid being ripped off. This should cost $50 (NOK 300). It's possible to go by public transport to West Jerusalem and take a taxi from there, but this will not save you a lot of money.

From sunset Friday to sunset Saturday it is Shabbat, and almost all public transport stops in Israel, although some taxis and sheruts (shared taxis) still operate. In the West Bank and between Jerusalem and Ramallah transport operates normally.
